Welcome!
In the Kaballa, the Jewish system of mystical wisdom, it is said that leaning over every blade of grass there is an angel whispering, “Grow, grow, grow.” While our souls do not necessarily grow up straight and tall as the reed, we have no choice but to grow. Perhaps there is an angel over every one of us, whispering to us to move into a higher level of understanding that synthesizes a connection from the spiritual to the physical. The physical realm follows rules and patterns that are governed by the inner workings of the body. With the proper nutrients from a varied and enriched diet we can maintain or regain our health. Through a deeper understanding of our harmony with and connection to the earth, the land that is farmed, and our own communities, our future and the future of the planet can be altered. The healing of the planet begins within each and every one of us. Knowledge is a commitment to yourself. As Marianne Williamson says in, “Illuminata”, “We have a choice whether or not to love, but we have no choice whether or not to grow. Whether we are cracked open by light or cracked open by despair, we are given the chance to move into the center of things. In the spiritual space of intimate connection, we have the power to heal and be healed.”
Since every cell in the human body depends on minerals for function, structure, and balance, it is vitally important to know and understand the body’s needs. In an era that pits the industrial model of farming against the agrarian model, we are reminded that if we but look inside ourselves for the answers, then hope is on the horizon. Trust your own judgement and your own ability to discern.
Family farming is a way of life that cannot be replaced by machinery or numbers or computers. Genetic engineering knows no history. When we purchase a product that has been made or grown on another continent the special life giving energy is lost because there is no connection between the item to the person buying it. History defines us as humans. Genetic engineering subverts the very nature of our history and destroys it, never to be regained again. Species lost, farm land eroded, water supplies ruined, all in a days work for the giant industrial model. We were not intended to be pulled between multinational corporations and our food supply, our waters, our very primary needs. I will forever fight against it if only in my own way on my own land.
This site is a call to arms against the industrial model that chokes us. As a lay person, I am dedicated to trying to understand our vital heritage and how our farming, nutrients, and our health are all connected. I stand beside the likes of Wendell Berry and I do not need an indoctrinated industrialist to try to convince me that their way is the only way of the future. Together we can crack open the knowledge little by little that will help each of us retain our sacred connection to ourselves, our families, and our communities.
